Terms of Service

Effective date: July 31, 2026 1. Acceptance and eligibility These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of bytesize.me and the related ByteSize services, websites, and applications (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You may not create or use an account if you are under 13. If you are at least 13 but under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. 2. Accounts You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting your sign-in credentials. Notify us promptly at support@bytesize.me if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not transfer your account or use a username that violates another person's rights, impersonates someone, is misleading, or is unlawful or abusive. We may require a username change or reclaim a username when reasonably necessary to protect users, rights holders, or the Service. 3. The Service ByteSize lets you create and publish a customizable profile containing links and other content. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that the Service will be uninterrupted. You are responsible for evaluating third-party links, integrations, products, and services that you add to or access through a profile. 4. Your content "Content" means text, links, images, files, and other material you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of your Content. You grant ByteSize a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify only as technically necessary, display, and distribute your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This license ends when your Content is deleted from active systems, except to the extent a copy remains in a backup, legal record, or content another user independently shared. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your Content and that your Content and use of the Service comply with these Terms and applicable law. Public profile Content is visible to the public. Do not publish information you want to keep private. ByteSize may remove or restrict Content that violates these Terms, creates risk for the Service or others, or must be removed by law. We are not required to monitor all Content. 5. Acceptable use You must not use the Service to: - break the law or violate another person's rights; - impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation; - publish unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or privacy-invasive material; - promote violence, self-harm, illegal goods, or dangerous activity; - upload malware or interfere with the Service or another system; - send spam, conduct phishing, or facilitate unauthorized solicitation; - scrape, probe, reverse engineer, or bypass access or security controls except where applicable law expressly permits it; - access another account without permission; or - use the Service in a way that could harm users, ByteSize, or the operation or reputation of the Service. 6. Copyright complaints If you believe Content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@bytesize.me. Identify the copyrighted work, the exact location of the material, why you believe the use is unauthorized, your contact information, and whether you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner. We may review the report, remove or restrict access to the material, notify the affected user, and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate another person's rights. 7. Plans, subscriptions, and payment ByteSize may offer free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe on the monthly or annual billing cycle shown at checkout. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You can manage or cancel a paid subscription through the billing portal in your account. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless the checkout terms state otherwise, paid access continues through the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where ByteSize expressly agrees otherwise. Prices and plan features may change. A price change applies no earlier than your next renewal, and we will provide notice when required by law. You are responsible for applicable taxes that are not collected by us. 8. Third-party services The Service may depend on or connect to third-party services. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. ByteSize does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, or transactions. 9. ByteSize intellectual property ByteSize and its licensors own the Service, software, design, branding, and other material we provide, excluding your Content. Subject to these Terms, ByteSize grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, license, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as these Terms or applicable law permit. 10. Feedback If you send ideas or feedback, you grant ByteSize a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or compensation. Do not send confidential information as feedback. 11. Suspension, termination, and account deletion You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have a paid subscription that is set to renew, schedule its cancellation before you request account deletion through account settings. You may also need to resolve an unpaid balance. ByteSize may suspend or terminate access, remove Content, or take other reasonable action if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the Service. Where practical, we may give notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Some information may remain in backups or records retained for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, or security purposes as described in the Privacy Policy. 12. Disclaimers To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." ByteSize disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from a course of dealing. ByteSize does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. 13. Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteSize, its suppliers, and its licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, use, or data arising from or related to the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteSize's total liability arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid ByteSize during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so these provisions may not apply to you. 14. Indemnity To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold ByteSize harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. 15. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our business, or applicable law. We will post the updated Terms and change the effective date above. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will provide additional notice when required by law. Your continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them. 16. General These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and ByteSize concerning the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. ByteSize may transfer these Terms in connection with a sale or transfer of the Service or its assets. 17. Contact Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@bytesize.me.
